Mission Statement
The Global AI Engineer is responsible for accelerating the adoption and industrialization of Artificial Intelligence across Campari Group by designing, developing and scaling AI-powered solutions, intelligent assistants and autonomous agents that enhance productivity, automate business processes and unlock measurable value. The role contributes to establishing the foundations of an enterprise-wide Agentic AI ecosystem, maximizing the return on existing data and AI investments and supporting sustainable business growth.
General Description of the Role
Within the Technology & Services organization, in the AI, Data & Analytics team, the role is responsible for enabling data-driven decision making and accelerating business value through data, analytics and Artificial Intelligence capabilities. As Artificial Intelligence rapidly evolves from predictive analytics into Generative AI and Agentic AI, the organization requires dedicated engineering capabilities to transform AI opportunities into scalable, secure and enterprise-ready solutions.
The Global AI Engineer plays a critical role in designing, developing, deploying and operationalizing AI-powered applications, intelligent assistants and autonomous agents that enhance employee productivity, automate knowledge work and support strategic business initiatives across Commercial, Supply Chain, Finance, HR and Corporate Functions.
The role acts as the technical bridge between business stakeholders, data teams and technology platforms, translating AI use cases into scalable solutions integrated within the enterprise ecosystem. The AI Engineer is responsible for accelerating the industrialization and adoption of AI capabilities, ensuring that solutions are secure, governed, reusable and aligned with business priorities.
Key Responsibilities and Activities
AI Solutions Design & Development
- Design, develop and deploy Generative AI applications, intelligent assistants and AI agents to support business processes and decision-making.
- Translate business requirements into scalable AI architectures and technical solutions.
- Develop reusable AI components, prompts, workflows and orchestration frameworks that can be leveraged across multiple functions and markets.
- Contribute to the evolution of a standardized and scalable AI application architecture.
Agentic AI Enablement
- Design and implement AI agents capable of executing multi-step workflows and interacting with enterprise systems.
- Support the development of autonomous and semi-autonomous AI solutions that augment employees and automate knowledge-intensive activities.
- Contribute to the definition and implementation of agent orchestration, reasoning and monitoring frameworks.
- Identify opportunities to increase process efficiency through Agentic AI capabilities.
Enterprise Integration & Automation
- Integrate AI solutions with enterprise applications, data platforms and collaboration tools.
- Collaborate with Data Platform, Enterprise Architecture and Application teams to ensure seamless integration and scalability.
- Support the development of API-based integrations and automation workflows that enable AI solutions to operate effectively within the enterprise ecosystem.
- Ensure interoperability between AI, Automation and Data & Analytics platforms.
AI Governance, Security & Reliability
- Implement AI governance principles, security controls and monitoring mechanisms in line with company standards and compliance requirements.
- Ensure AI solutions are reliable, scalable, explainable and aligned with responsible AI principles.
- Monitor AI application performance and continuously optimize solution effectiveness and user adoption.
- Support the establishment of AI engineering standards, best practices and development frameworks.
Stakeholder Partnership & Value Realization
- Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to identify, prioritize and deliver high-value AI use cases.
- Support business functions in assessing feasibility, business value and implementation approaches for AI initiatives.
- Drive the industrialization of proofs of concept and pilots into production-ready solutions.
- Contribute to measuring business impact, adoption and value realization from AI investments
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
- Stay informed about emerging AI technologies, frameworks and industry trends.
- Evaluate new tools, models and platforms that can strengthen the company's AI capabilities.
- Promote AI knowledge sharing and support capability-building initiatives across the organization.
- Contribute to strengthening Campari Group's internal AI engineering capabilities while reducing dependency on external partners
Required Skills and Experience
Experience & Background
- 5+ years of experience in Software Engineering, Data Engineering, Machine Learning Engineering or AI Engineering roles.
- Proven experience developing and deploying AI, Machine Learning and Generative AI solutions in enterprise environments.
- Experience working with cloud-based AI ecosystems and modern data platforms.
- Demonstrated experience delivering scalable applications from concept to production.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional business and technology teams in international organizations.
AI & Data Engineering Skills
- Strong knowledge of Generative AI architectures, Large Language Models (LLMs) and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) patterns.
- Experience building AI copilots, virtual assistants and agent-based solutions.
- Understanding of prompt engineering, agent orchestration frameworks and AI application lifecycle management.
- Experience designing scalable AI and data pipelines.
- Knowledge of vector databases, embeddings, knowledge retrieval and semantic search concepts.
Technical Skills
- Hands-on experience with Azure AI Services, Azure OpenAI, Databricks and modern cloud-native architectures.
- Strong programming skills in Python and modern software development practices.
- Experience working with APIs, integrations, microservices and automation platforms.
- Familiarity with DevOps, MLOps and AIOps practices.
- Understanding of data governance, cybersecurity and enterprise architecture principles.
Business Skills
- Ability to translate business challenges into practical AI solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to prioritize initiatives based on business value and feasibility.
- Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Education
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science or related fields.
- Relevant certifications in Cloud, Data Engineering or Artificial Intelligence are considered a plus.

The indicative annual gross salary (base salary) for this position ranges within 50K-62K + 10% STI, depending on the candidate’s experience, skills, and overall profile.
The role is classified in accordance with the collective labor agreement – level 2.
The position might also include a variable compensation component and a benefits package in line with applicable company policies.”
