We're looking for a collaborative and hands-on Distillery Maintenance Team Leader to join our team at Appleton Estate.
In this role, you'll lead a team of maintenance professionals while ensuring the reliability, safety, and performance of our distillery operations. Working closely with Operations, Engineering, and site leadership, you'll help maintain critical equipment, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and contribute to the long-term success of one of Jamaica's most iconic production sites.

What You'll Do
- Lead the day-to-day execution of electrical and mechanical maintenance activities.
- Support equipment reliability and minimize downtime across the distillery.
- Manage, coach, and develop a team of frontline maintenance professionals.
- Coordinate planned, corrective, and emergency maintenance activities.
- Drive preventive maintenance compliance and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support Health, Safety, Environmental, Quality, and Food Safety standards.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement sustainable solutions to recurring issues.
- Partner with operations and technical teams to improve efficiency and performance.
- Contribute to the commissioning and ongoing maintenance of new equipment, including recent site investments.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
What We're Looking For
- Technical qualification in Engineering, Chemistry, or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years of experience in Manufacturing, Maintenance, Production, or Plant Engineering environments.
- Strong mechanical and electrical maintenance knowledge.
- Experience leading teams and working in operational manufacturing settings.
- Knowledge of preventative and corrective maintenance practices.
- Familiarity with Health & Safety, HACCP, ISO, and Food Safety requirements.
- Experience using maintenance and business systems such as CMMS and SAP.
- Strong communication, planning, problem-solving, and leadership capabilities.
- A valid Food Handler's Permit (if you do not currently hold a valid Food Handler's Permit but are selected for the role, obtaining one will be a required part of the onboarding process, particularly for candidates coming from industries outside Food & Beverage).
Nice to Have
- Experience in Food & Beverage, Distillery, Brewery, or similar manufacturing operations.
- Kaizen training or continuous improvement knowledge.
- Experience with Megamation CMMS.
- CAD exposure.
- Project Management training or certification.
