The Role
We are looking for a dynamic, commercially savvy Channel & Customer Marketing Specialist to lead on-premise channel strategy and execution across South Africa. This role sits at the intersection of marketing and sales and is critical to driving brand conversion, visibility, and advocacy in bars, restaurants, nightclubs, and prestige venues.
You will partner closely with our Brand, Commercial, and Trade Activation teams to deliver channel strategies that bring our portfolio to life in the on-trade, turning occasions into opportunities and venues into brand worlds.
Key Responsibilities and Activities
• Develop and execute the on-premise channel strategy aligned with brand and commercial priorities
• Lead channel segmentation to define outlet types, prioritize accounts, and tailor portfolio and activation tactics
• Build and implement annual on-premise marketing plans, in collaboration with brand and commercial teams
• Develop and manage toolkits, POSM, and menu strategies for priority venues and occasions
• Drive shopper and customer insight generation to inform channel strategy and optimize campaign effectiveness
• Track competitor activity, outlet performance, and market trends to refine channel tactics
• Collaborate with Sales and Marketing teams to deliver best-in-class execution
• Support Joint Business Planning and tailor-made activation programs with strategic on-premise customers
• Manage the on-premise marketing budget, ensuring efficient resource allocation and strong ROI
• Define and report on KPIs and performance metrics to measure channel marketing effectiveness
• Work closely with external partners, including creative, POS, and activation agencies, to deliver campaigns on time and within budget
• Act as the go-to expert for on-premise shopper behavior, outlet dynamics, and trade opportunities
What We’re Looking For:
• 3–5 years of experience in Trade Marketing, Channel Marketing, or Brand Activation in the FMCG, Spirits, or Beverage industry
• Strong knowledge of the South African on-trade landscape and customer dynamics
• Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive commercial impact
• Passion for hospitality, culture, nightlife and premium brands
• A self-starter with a bias for action and creative problem-solving
• A collaborative spirit who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
