General Description of the Role

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our warehouse and ensuring safe and efficient handling of all finished goods, packaging materials, and process materials shipped by and received at our facility.  They are responsible for managing and monitoring the productivity of their team of warehouse operators who conduct the order picking and movements of material for shipment and inventory.   


Role Responsibilities

 

People Management

  • Supervise and oversee a team of Warehouse operators in a way that complies with Campari’s ways of working while engaging the team in warehouse accountabilities and a continuous improvement mindset.

  • Provide coaching, feedback, and training as appropriate to develop team capabilities, improve performance, and/or onboard new employees

  • Provide overall leadership and direction for the warehouse department including the training and development of the warehouse team

  • Foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork among warehouse employees 

 

Operational 

  • Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of customer orders

  • Coordinate with the Customer Service & Logistics team and plan to promptly rectify any identified variances in inventory  

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize supply chain and distribution processes

  • Schedule all daily team activities to maintain the production schedule and customer order shipment requirements

  • Ensure all records and warehouse-related documentation are accurately completed and stored

  • Conduct inventory counts of finished goods and packaging materials and participate in annual audits

  • Pallet program management and pallet inventory control (includes CHEP)

  • Work proactively and collaboratively with other plant team members to ensure daily production demands and targets are met   

  • Implement continuous improvement actions to close gaps in KPIs or increase productivity as needed

  • Lead and/or participate in root cause investigations to solve problems by attempting to identify and correct the root causes of events, as opposed to simply addressing their symptoms

  • Responsible for ensuring all warehouse areas and equipment are kept clean and operational

  • This position shall be trained in and able to perform all warehouse operator activities (forklift driving) to provide coverage during team absences

  • Perform any other duties as assigned by management

 

Quality

  • Ensure that all incoming and outgoing materials are handled in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to achieve desired quality results. 

  • The Warehouse Supervisor will be accountable for ensuring the integrity and safety of our inventory during storage and transportation from the facility

  • Periodic audits of materials and processes to be conducted to ensure proper procedures are being followed 

  • Work with appropriate internal stakeholders to drive continuous improvement and/or resolve quality risks when identified

  • Maintain all shipping/receiving documentation as per internal policy and government regulatory requirements


Safety

  • In coordination with the site HSES Manager, ensure all operations comply with GMP practices and site safety rules

  • Ensure all employees are following prescribed PPE safety requirements for their assigned work area

  • Consistently promote a safe working environment.  This includes keeping all materials, supplies, tools, and any other production-related items in their place.  Implement and sustain 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain)

  • Immediately report and properly document any safety items related to you or any departmental employees.  Safety items to be reported include but are not limited to bodily injury, near misses, potential dangers, spills, and/or any other accidents

  • Implement and sustain all relevant food safety standards.  Lead and/or participate in safety meetings as designated

  • This position shall be required to address all safety-related items in their department and lead any discussions surrounding safety

 

 

Key Relationships

Internal:  Customer Service & Logistics, Plant Director, Health & Safety Manager, Quality Manager, Brand House and ECOMM teams, Maintenance, Manufacturing, and Planning

External:  Material suppliers, logistics vendors, truck drivers, Government, and other regulatory entities

 

Required Experience

 

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent; degree in supply chain management, logistics, or related field is an asset

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in warehouse management or supervisory role

  • Extensive knowledge of warehouse operations & systems, safety regulations, and quality control processes

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Effective leadership capabilities - the ability to manage people, develop capabilities, and improve results

  • Strong communication skills and ability to delegate as priorities change

  • Flexibility and ability to multitask and shift gears based on changing business needs

  • Use of metrics and data to analyze performance, manage costs, and improve results

  • Ability to work collaboratively across department lines at all levels in a plant operation, effectively influencing management as well as operations and line staff

  • Ability to drive a Forklift with a clear understanding of Forklift and Pedestrian Safety

  • Experience with warehouse management software

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel and Word)

  • Experience with SAP preferred

  • Physically able to lift up to 30 kilograms

  • Work outside normal business hours is required on occasion
