General Description of the Role

 

The primary objective of this role is to leverage data and analytics to identify opportunities, improve profitability, optimise trade spend, and drive pricing strategies and plans across markets. This role will partner with Sales and Marketing to ensure pricing and promotions are executed effectively, while improving processes and strengthening competitiveness across Canada.

 

Key Responsibilities and Activities

Given the nature of the Company’s business and the market place, the business and/or jobs will evolve and change over time. Accordingly, the Company may add to or remove from the duties and responsibilities set out below as circumstances change. Current duties and responsibilities of the Revenue Management position include:

 

  • Provide analytical support to Sales to maximize profitable sales and assess the efficiency and effectiveness of deferred discount programs from design to execution; ensuring programs are consistent with overall brand pricing strategy and budget allocation.
  • Design and present pre-and-post event analyses using reports, providing insightful feedback to Leadership, Sales and Marketing team that directly informs future commercial strategy.
  • Build and govern data models behind promotional ROI to ensure timely and trusted performance metrics.
  • Maintain and update commercial playbooks with pricing and promotional discount guardrails.
  • Report on current Campari pricing versus competitive pricing and trends to ensure overall market competitiveness in all Provinces, while making recommendations where applicable to improve Campari profitability
  • Track price executions to ensure strategy compliance and partner with Sales & Marketing to evaluate key opportunities/challenges by developing both standard and ad-hoc reporting.
  • Develop an understanding of the alcohol industry inclusive of the regulations, liquor boards, chain and other retail customers, on premise accounts and competitors.
  • Develop and maintain pricing dashboard utilizing competitive information, category trends, and statistical relationships.
  • Work closely with Sales to ensure all price changes, either Liquor Board mandated, or Campari driven, are managed in a proactive manner in conjunction with the various Provincial or Regional leadership teams.
  • Responsible for forecasting gross sales accurately and loading the gross sales forecast to BPC in a timely manner
  • Contribute, when required, in situations, projects, and activities not included in other principal accountabilities to assist in the accomplishment of business objectives and personnel development
  • Prepares market specific analysis and recommendations in support of improved revenue and profitability, utilizing competitive industry information
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Canadian (local) Finance, Sales, Customer & Channel Marketing and Brand Marketing employees
  • Global and Regional Revenue Management employees.

External:

  • Provincial Liquor Board(s)

 

Experience Required

  • 3+ years of experience in pricing/revenue management, business analytics, or related roles
  • Previous experience working with Consumer Packaged Goods/Alcoholic Beverage Industry preferred

 

Education / Professional Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Statistics, Economics, or a related field

 

Skills

Functional:

  • In depth understanding of regression analysis and other statistical modeling
  • Basic understanding of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including GAAP & IFRS
  • Knowledge of applicable federal and provincial regulations (preferred)
  • Ability to exercise tact and discretion in dealing with sensitive and confidential information

Technical:

  • Ability to create “what if” models to assess impact of pricing and program opportunities
  • Proven ability to function on a team responsible for the execution of business plans reflecting year-on-year growth
  • Basic PowerBI required.
  • Ability to build relationships with provincial teams to align mathematical insight with on-the-ground experience
  • Analytics—ability to take large amounts of data and mine the key insights
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and experience in working with a multi-brand portfolio

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $91,500-122,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors and considerations. In addition to base salary and a generous employee benefits package, employees are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
