General Description of the Role

 

The Territory Sales Specialist will serve as local brand advocate. This role will foster relationships in key targeted accounts, brand activation & brand education. The Territory Sales Specialist will educate trade and consumers/shoppers on the brands, build brand affinity, influencing how to use it to elevate cocktails, and drive trial and awareness. The role will focus on new and existing key cross-cultural accounts in its target subchannels.

 

 

Key Responsibilities and Activities

 

Key Account Management

  • Develops strong working relationships with influential cross-cultural accounts (on and off premise) in an assigned geographies with diverse representation.
  • Provides key accounts with compelling selling stories and/or programming initiatives to grow distribution, shelf management, and depletion activity of our brands with a specific focus on Cognac, Tequila, and Cordial’s.
  • Identifies new key account opportunities for our brands.
  • Delivers fact based selling presentations to on and off premise sub channels.
  • Ensures the execution of in market programs in targeted influential cross-cultural key accounts.

 

Brand Activation

  • Works in conjunction with Campari’s Marketing and Channel & Customer Marketing Departments to assist with the planning and execution of creative, local events that increase the presence and visibility within the target market.
  • Drives trial & awareness via trade & consumer samplings. Offers and schedules tasting events, menu, and cocktail creation in assigned key accounts.
  • Works within guidelines defined by Campari PR team to increase brand awareness of our portfolio through social media and social networking sites.
  • Helps drive brand visibility and awareness through merchandising and POS placements.
  • Assists in planning and execution of key local/ ad hoc events

 

Trade Education and Staff Trainings, Off & On Premise

  • Communicate relevant consumer focused programming and campaigns to the trade community, including:
    • Educate trade and consumers via ad-hoc events in area, as requested by local teams (Off/On Premise)
    • Support sales division teams with distributor/customer meetings (GSMs), work withs and trade events
    • Include mixology and tasting as medium to reinforce brand message and quality

 

Community Rapport Building

  • Establishes and nurtures relationships with key community members, local businesses, and potential customers within the territory. This includes attending local events, participating in local business associations, and visiting businesses regularly.
  • Actively participates in community events and initiatives to increase brand visibility and credibility, such as, sponsoring local events, volunteering, or partnering with local non-profits.
  • Understands the needs and concerns of the community and advocate for them within the company. Use this understanding to inform sales strategies and product development.

 

Budget, Planning and Reporting

  • Works in collaboration with State Manager to understand and support Customer Business Management tool and processes
  • Responsible for managing within an assigned budget
  • Contributes to the annual budget planning cycle
  • Reviews post-evaluation reports and sell-out data to provide insights for continuous improvement
  • Monitors and reports competitive supplier or other volume increasing activity in assigned key accounts.

 

 

Experience Required

  • 1 to 3 years of experience in alcoholic beverage sales.
  • Marketing, promotion, event management and/or sales merchandising experience preferred
  • Must be 21+ with a clean driving record

 

 

Education / Professional Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience

 

 

Essential Job Functions

  • Ability to work weekends and extended workdays (to generally 3+ nights in various account activities).
  • Make in person presentations – communicating verbally information about Campari’s brands and portfolio.
  • Access online data and review/analyze for information, opportunities within key accounts and assigned geography – generally 2-4 days per week.
  • Must have a motor vehicle and possess a valid driver’s license.
