General Description of the Role

The Senior Brand Manager is responsible for ownership and execution of the Annual Brand Plan to achieve the Brand/s objectives across volume, market share, CAAP and consumer, including brand purchase funnel. 

Working as a member of the Marketing team the SBM will lead and act as an advocate within the business for consumer-led Marketing programs.

 

Key Responsibilities and Activities

  • Develop and execute the Annual Brand Plan (managing timelines, budgets and alignment)

  • Deliver sales volume, net sales value, market share and profit projections for the brand trademark 

  • Using grounded consumer insight to plan, direct and manage marketing efforts, to achieve maximum return on investment

  • Ensure the integrity of the brand at all times

  • Ensure alignment with the Global Brand House  team on global brand guidelines

  • Develop agency briefs for all elements of the marketing mix and day to day agency management across advertising, media, digital, on-pack promotions.

  • Lead PR and grassroots activity 

  • Manage the budget and execution of all elements of the marketing mix Align Commercial Sales Managers and cross functional teams on all key brand plans and activities

  • Scope, develop and execute the brand/s business strategy, identifying commercially viable opportunities to further strengthen the brand offering.

  • Work closely with the Global Brand Team, local Consumer Insights and Innovation on brand projects for launch in the Australian market (via the global gate process).

  • Advocate for the brand/s within the business, to engage and motivate Camparista’s to embrace the brand and brand plans

  • Champion and lead the evolution of the long term brand positioning (i.e. communication idea, platform and activations areas)

  • Develop strategies for the brand portfolio within the Australian market • Conduct brand risk assessments and portfolio management as required.

  • Be the brand expert across consumer, category and competitor performance analysis and recommendations

  • Monitor ongoing brand health and post analysis of brand performance including learnings and recommended improvements for future activity

External:  Media, PR, Social and activation agencies  

 

Qualifications, Experience & Skills

  • Degree qualified in Marketing or equivalent

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Brand Manager or Senior Brand Manager 

  • FMCG or Liquor Industry experience and recent Australian market experience (within last 4 years) 

  • Experience with a large value brand or a multiple brand portfolio

  • Technology proficiency across social media platforms and applications, including high competency with Microsoft Office (MS Teams, Outlook, Excel, Word and Powerpoint) along with Aztec or similar

  • Proven data analysis, data interpretation, and problem solving ability.

  • Capability to manage and drive multiple projects, competing priorities and deadlines.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication with strong presentation skills,

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with all stakeholders

  • Motivation and high energy with a strong bias for action;

  • An innovative mindset, creative flair and passion

  • Commercial mindset to demonstrate business acumen and clearly connect the impact of marketing and brand deliverables to commercial result
