General Description of the Role
The Assistant Trade Marketing Manager role is responsible for assisting the delivery of our channel activity plans. Understanding the most impactful ways to engage our customers, shoppers and consumers will be the key to success.
Mission/Objectives
Winning consumers hearts and minds in venues is the ultimate objective. Helping the On Trade Marketing Manager to engineer the consumer experience within is key, and converting awareness into product sales is the measure of success.
Working with our agency partners to ensure superior and unique consumer experiences to boost brand building effectiveness will be critical to ensuring both Executional KPIs (including: menu listings, portfolio distribution targets, pouring agreements, consumer and trade engagement) and financial KPI’s (including Nets Sales Value, and GM%) are delivered.
Key Responsibilities and Activities
Omnichannel Strategy and Plans
- Assist the On Trade, Marketing Manager in creating segment specific activity plans using the Perfect Venue framework that includes the details on assortment, new listing, in-venue media, merchandising and other initiatives. Creation of detailed activation guidelines for key customers in priority segments.
Customer Strategy and Plans
- Support Sales in creating content to be used for customers business plans (for strategic customers), helping to win customer support in executing our channel plans
Consumer and Trade Engagement
- Support the On Trade Marketing Manager in coordinating the point of sale materials (POSM), ordering from global catalogue and development of local items that align with brand image and target audience needs. Manage the strategic placement and guidelines of POSMs to maximize visibility.
- Coordinate venue experientials, together with Sales by planning the event and supporting the execution and amplification, ensuring maximum visibility of the brands. Plan and execute events with the assistance of our agency partners in venues in line with the Brand Strategy and Channel Strategy
- Cascade Campari Commercial Excellence guidelines and engage Sales team to identify, develop and coordinate business development initiatives (e.g. new product launches, sponsorships, cobranded activities, distribution drives etc.)
- Work along side the Trade Marketing Manager to coordinate the agency bump in and bump out plan for all activations alongside the ASM & Agency teams.
Customer and Outlet Perfect Store Execution
- Understand Perfect Venue levers for specific channel segments (Including assortment, perfect serve, visibility, activation and education) and how they are used to drive performance.
- Assist the On Trade Marketing Manager, and out Agency support partners to design relevant promotional mechanics and materials to drive the execution of customers sales and promotional plans.
Measuring and Evaluation
- Coordinate channel KPI reporting on behalf of the On Trade Customer Marketing Team.
- Provide post activity reviews on A&P investment KPIs.
- Coordinate A&P budget administration & Monthly reconciliation and tracking for your portfolip.
- Assist with POS warehouse management of your portfolios POS materials including SOH management, logistics forecasting, budget and expense management.

External: Key On Trade Customer Partners, Marketing and Trade Activation Agencies, POS Logistics (The Consortium Clemenger Group)
Experience Required
- Exposure to Brand Management, Commercial Sales and/or Trade Activation an advantage
- Experience in managing expense budgets, sales reporting, and both Agency and Customer relationships.
- Tertiary Education, bachelor’s degree with subject focus in Marketing, Business and/or Communications essential
- Willingness to lead cross functional projects, work within teams, and influence internal stakeholders essential.
- Commercial Sales, Marketing and Liquor industry experience highly regarded.
Skills
Analytical skills - The ability to translate Industry, channel, customer, category and brand information into actionable insights for both the Marketing and Sales cross functions.
Commercial Acumen - demonstrating the ability to manage an expense budget necessary, providing regular updates and forecasts, as well as finding ways to reduce the "cost of doing business".
Superior communication skills - The ability to create compelling internal and external presentations
(written and verbal) to drive field team and customer compliance to Campari's executional standards.
Office Applications- Intermediate skills in Excel, Word and PowerPoint essential.
Project Support- Ability to support the coordination of complex projects.
