Campari Group has great ambitions in Asia, and Campari China will play an instrumental role in expanding the Group’s business in this continent. Focused on Mainland China, the company directly manages brand equity development through above and below the line initiatives and cooperates with local distributors who focus on the commercialization of the product portfolio with the trade and jointly plan with Campari China and execute targeted below the line actions, especially in the On-Premise channel.
The Marketing Director is a key member of the local management team and leads, motivates and develops a team of Marketing professionals, inspiring both Campari China and the extended team at the distributors’ around consumer led Marketing programs. The Marketing Director directly liaise and collaborate with the Global Strategic Marketing teams in Milan and New York.

 

Key Responsibilities
The role is responsible for the strategic development of the Campari portfolio in China and requires a combination of strategic thinking and hands-on attitude, as the Marketing Director:
- Leads the marketing agenda in the Chinese market, via the adaptation and execution of international brand strategies and the definition of more local brand strategies, ensuring full alignment with the Group Strategic Marketing organization based in Milan (Italy) and New York (USA)
- Actively contributes to the development of Campari China’s 5Y strategic plan, annual budget and revised budgeting cycles, by bringing her/his marketing perspective
- Leads the development of integrated annual brand plans, in close cooperation with Campari China’s commercial Director and with local distributors’ marketing organizations, balancing brand equity development and commercial results
- Is accountable for the design and execution of all above and below the line, brand PR and innovation activities directly managed by Campari China, and ensures full alignment between distributors’ marketing / trade marketing plans and Campari China’s strategy
- Directly liaise and collaborate with the Global Strategic Marketing teams in Milan and New York for the further strategic development of our brand portfolio including insights and references from the Chinese market
- Leads new product development / new product launches in the market, and develops pricing strategies in cooperation with the Commercial Director and distributors
- Ensures continuous monitoring of the competitive landscape and the evolution of new trends
- Continuously promotes and supports capabilities development within the marketing organization

 

Reporting relationship
The role reports to the Managing Director China, who in turn reports to the MD BU APAC. He/she directly leads a team of three brand management professionals.

 

Experience
- The role requires at least 12-15 years of marketing experience in a brand driven multinational, with proven people management experience.
- Solid experience within the Chinese market is a must.
- FMCG background required, alcohol beverage industry and on-premise knowledge are a plus.
Skills
- Excellent leadership skills, combined with the ability to drive and deliver change management programs across multiple work streams, within the boundaries of defined strategies and cross functional processes
- Fluency in Mandarin and English, both written and oral, coupled with the ability to successfully operate within international and multicultural environments
- Robust technical skills across the main marketing specialties, with outstanding execution skills and the ability to lead new product development / launch
- Strong communication, influencing and networking skills coupled with advanced relationship management and customer facing ability
- Strong conceptual thinking ability with ability to communicate complex issues and information to all levels of the organization across multiple countries and cultures

Education
Degree qualified, major in Business Administration or Marketing a plus
