General Description of the Role - Mission/Objectives

The SC Sustainability/Environmental Specialist/Senior Specialist will be responsible for supporting data-driven performance management and forecasting of Scope 3 Greenhouse Gas emissions to deliver the Campari Group’s objectives towards net zero. The role will focus on developing and maintaining an in-house environmental data system for carbon foot printing of the company and products.

The role assumes working and collaborating with global functions to deliver necessary data and insights for the implementation of emission reduction actions and external communication (Supplier Engagement Program, Corporate Sustainability, Logistics, R&D Liquid and Packaging, Houses of Brands, GBS).

In addition, the role will have further project responsibilities, particularly in business development of new environmental sustainability areas.

 

Key Responsibilities and Activities

  1. Scope 3
  • Administer and act as a principal user of corporate carbon footprint data repository for Scope 3 emissions (Sphera Cloud)
  • Manage the corporate carbon footprint methodology, with associated procedures, data frameworks and transfers, and external assurance process
  • Conduct annual corporate carbon footprint calculations to be reported externally in non-financial disclosures in compliance with Green House Gases Protocol (as required in CSRD-report, CDP), including responses to external data assurance
  • Act as the key user of product carbon foot printing tool and integrate data points and methodologies between product and corporate calculation methodologies and systems, and collaborate with R&D Packaging in generation of Product Footprints
  • Develop guidance and reports to generate insights from Scope 3 data to other functions responsible for delivery of emission reductions, based on historical data, compared to targets, projections of future emissions under assumed scenarios

 

 

  1. Suppliers/Co-Man engagement on Scope 3 emissions reduction
  • Validate supplier-specific claims on emissions and reductions (from Supplier Engagement Program) in order to incorporate into corporate carbon footprint and track progress towards Scope 3 targets

  1. Emerging Sustainability priorities
  • Participate in Global Sustainability initiatives and projects, with focus on developing new data and methodologies for emerging sustainability areas.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • 3+ years of experience in supply chain sustainability
  • 3+ years in previous Sustainability roles in FMCG company or specialized Sustainability/Carbon Footprint consultancy company
  • University degree with an educational focus in Data, Engineering, Sustainability (also post-graduate and dedicated training is acceptable)
  • Experience with Scope 3 emissions quantification, including familiarity with the GHG Protocol, CDP reporting, and Science Based Targets initiative
  • Experience with environmental data systems, processes and procedures, external assurance protocols

 

Skills:

  • Strong analytical, data management, data-driven communication abilities to various audiences
  • Good attention to detail, methodological and procedural approaches to work
  • Previous experience with working on environmental data systems is a plus
  • Good command of Excel for ad-hoc analysis is an asset
  • Ability to work extended time with data and software data systems
  • Ability to work in a matrix environment
