General Description of the Role

This position is responsible to manage and implement safety, environmental and hygiene systems that maximize the benefits and competitive advantages while ensuring the safety and health of workers, as well as legal compliance and safety and environmental standards.

 

Mission/Objectives

The HSE Coordinator mission is to:

  • Ensure execution of the anual plan for legal, corporate requirements and internal estandars.
  • Ensure closing actions on time for HAZOPS, Risk assessments and root cause analysis.
  • HSE coach to coordinators and supervisors to ensure best practices and risk control.

 

Key Responsibilities and Activities

  • Ensure safety stardards are applied every day on his/her areas of responsibility.
  • Ensure risky activities for contractors and manintenance are performed under safety procedures and standards.
  • Manage meetings y closing actions for HAZOPs, Risk Assessment, incendents investigations.
  • Budget execution for areas under his/her responsibility.
  • Coordinates brigade personel practices and trainings.
  • Evaluate behavioral and analytical work risks;
  • Incident y behavioral trend analysis.
  • Coaching safety walks with coordinators and supervisors to improve risk perception y best practices.
  • Train operational personel to ensure knowledge of risk based thinking and safety practices.
  • Propose safety improvements in existing process based on the risk assessments done in areas.
  • Supervise inspection and maintenance of emergency response equipment.
  • Contractors and suppliers  

 

Key Relationships

Internal: Plant Director, Process, HR, Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, Security.

External: Suppliers, Maintenance Contractors, Government entities for regulations .

 

Experience Required

Minimum 3 years of experience in security programs in manufacturing companies and preferably in the manufacture of alcoholic beverages.

 

 

Education / Professional Qualifications

  • Industrial engineering, Quality system engineering or related field.
