General Description of the Role
As a Senior Brand Manager for Campari America's French Icons team focusing on the Cognac Region, you will work alongside the Category Director to lead a Brand Manager in growing our Cognac brands. Together, you will develop strategies to expand our portfolios, connect with consumers authentically, and tap into new markets, with a greater focus on Black American consumers.

 

In your role you will capture the rich culture and history of the French Cognac Regions in our branding efforts in the US. You will build and lead innovative strategies that thrive in awareness to grow consideration and trial while leading brand initiatives, partnerships, and creative development informed by consumer insights and financial goals.
 

Responsibilities
 

Marketing Strategy, Activation & Executive
● Leads the implementation of the short and long-term vision to deliver consumer, channel, and financial goals.

● Develop a deep understanding of the current target consumer, with a culturally diverse lens, to influence brand and customer activation plans.
● Guides and promotes brand building practices across the organization
● Champions the brand across stakeholders including the leadership team, trade, sales, and distributors and external parties.

● Leads consumer activation plan across advertising, digital and social media, public relations, special events and sponsorships. Partners with internal media, cultural partnership, digital teams to develop activation plans while optimizing ROI.
● Drives the development of all marketing assets and selling tools in partnership with Sales, Channel & Customer Marketing and RARE team members to ensure cohesive and impactful messaging that will deliver on the brand objectives.
● Leads quarterly business reviews delivered to the leadership team, driving outcomes and actions to achieve the business goals.
Insights, Analytics & Innovation
● Collaborates with the Sales, Channel and Customer Marketing, Strategy, Innovation, and Insights team to discover and capitalize on key growth opportunities in the market, such as, priority market exploration, new consumer unlocks, pricing, distribution opportunities, optimizing our size mix, etc.
● Reviews regular brand performance and conducts additional analysis each month to be highly connected with the specific brand challenges and opportunities as they track throughout the year by region. Provides regular updates and recommendations for actions to management and collaborating cross functional teams.
● Leads any brand extension developments, size mix opportunities, and sizing potential.

 

Financial
● Leads the brand’s P&L, working to build brands with strong equity that will enable increased value delivery over time.

● Manages brand financials, including guidance on where and how the brands should be investing based on the overall strategy, driving total efficiencies in the A&P budget and providing analysis on spending vs. plans.
● Proactively manages and analyzes the brand’s P&L including pricing analysis, promotional strategy, SKU management.

 

Omnichannel Communications & Activation
● Leads multiple agencies and the IAT to deliver omnichannel activations across all consumer & customer activities, including digital, earned media, communications, retail, on premise, ecommerce.

● Leads agencies (creative, media buying, experiential social/influencer) and work with internal partners (PR and Digital) to develop and execute integrated and highly impactful communications for the brands, across multiple consumer & customer touchpoints that deliver brand goals.
● Engages and mobilizes sales and distributor partners to drive not only enthusiasm but concrete execution excellence through the line.

 

Cross-Functional Commercial Engagement & Execution
● Works closely with our local Commercial Sales teams and Channel and Customer Marketing to identify opportunities for portfolio or geographic expansion to achieve goals;

● Collaborates with multiple stakeholders including Global Strategic Marketing, Channel & Customer Marketing, Supply Chain and Sales to ensure that brand building activities brought to life remain on strategy.
● Stays close to the marketplace to ensure that BTL efforts are focused on the appropriate areas to grow the brand across TTL touchpoints.

 

Qualifications and Skills
● BA/BS required; MBA preferred

● 8 + years in brand management with CPG experience.
● Must demonstrate effective consumer insight strategies
● Strong analytical skills, problem solving and financial/business acumen.

● Significant experience in awareness and marketing catered to the unique needs and perspectives of diverse cultures including Black American and Hispanic/Latinx consumer groups
● Ability to identify opportunities to maintain and recruit multicultural consumers from competitive categories such as Liqueurs and competitive Cognac brands.
● Competitive business and branding knowledge with spirits or other comparable lifestyle brands.

● Excellent interpersonal, communication skills with proven success of buy-in with internal and external stakeholders including leadership.
● Ability to build collaborative relationships, influence, and work cross-functionally
● Ability to lead and coach direct reports.

● Experience with talent, celebrity, or large-brand partnerships is a plus.
● Highly proficient in PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Data Analysis, Syndicated Research (i.e., Nielsen)
● Ability to travel 20% of the time.


The expected base salary for this position ranges from $134,500 - $168,100. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors and considerations. In addition to base salary and a generous employee benefits package, employees are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
