General Description of the Role

 

The Innovation Project Manager drives the execution of Innovation, Renovation and Fast Track projects within the Region, supporting Innovation Business Leaders in bringing to life new ideas coordinating all the Functions involved in the process.

 

Mission/Objectives

 

For the assigned projects, Innovation Project Manager partners with Innovation Business Leader thoughout the whole project duration, engaging and managing the project Team to ensure the implementation within agreed quality, cost and time in line with Innovation process guidelines.

 

 

Key Responsibilities and Activities

 

Project Management

 

  • Supports Innovation Business Leader in the overall project development throughout all the stages, from idea evaluation to post-launch;
  • Facilitates Idea screening: facilitate scoping with Business Leader, assess supply chain impacts and risks, challenge Business Leaders on assessment grid scoring and provide recommendation to Gatekeepers;
  • Defines project team and masterplan: identify required resources, draft project risk assessment and related mitigation plan, define project timeline and constantly monitor it in coordination with Business Leader;
  • Coordinates project execution: check the timely execution of project activities, managing performance gaps and ensuring a prompt escalation of issues when needed, according to innovation process governance. In particular:
    • Coordinate with packaging Team for all packaging development activities, ensuring final artwork approval (with Legal and Regulatory);
    • Oversee liquid development, checking that regulatory compliance is ensured for Countries in scope;
    • Brief masterdata Team on the Project, ensuring that new codes creation is timely scheduled and executed;
    • Coordinate with Procurement to ensure Suppliers involvement and cost estimation;
    • Coordinate with Engineering to define CAPEX timeline and estimation, line trials, etc.;
    • Coordinate with Planning to define production plans (including Phase In Phase Out plan) and write-off estimation;
    • Coordinate with SC Finance to prepare COGS estimation;
    • Coordinate with other Functions if specifically required by project plan.
  • Ensures constant alignment with Innovation Business Leader on project status and risks, getting insights on launch plans and volumes updates from Business Leader and ensuring that BL is updating markets in scope on project status;
  • Constanlty updates project status and tracking in the system (e.g. Thor, Fast-track);
  • Participates to Springboard meetings, ensuring the exhaustive preparation of pre-reads and highlighting any Supply Chain related risk and possible mitigation actions to Supply Chain gatekeeper;
  • Project closing: ensure that all SKUs in scope have been created and forecasted by markets, first productions are successfully completed and all activities are handed over to Supply Chain functions within day-by-day processes;
  • Performs project closing meeting with project team to capture lessons learned;
  • Coordinate the preparation of all SC data to support post launch evalution together with Innovation Business Leader.

 

Educational and Functional responsibilities

 

  • Coaches all the Functions in the Region (SC, Marketing, Commercial and Support Functions) on innovation and renovation processes and governance;
  • Proactively contributes to the continous improvement of the innovation process, in collaboration with Global PLM.

 

 

Key Relationships

 

Internal:

  • Innovation Business Leaders (GSM and Local Marketing);
  • All Functions involved in Innovation Process (e.g. Marketing, Engineering, Procurement, R&D, Quality, Finance, Planning, Operations, Legal).

 

External: Suppliers involved in Innovation Process (e.g. co-packers, packaging and ingredients Suppliers, agencies).

 

Functional capabilities

 

  • Min 4-5 years experience in managing innovations projects in FMCG industry (beverage industry is a plus), with in-depth knowledge of the product innovation process and its implications;
  • Successful track record in managing complex projects simultaneously in dynamic and demanding environment;
  • Demonstrated capability in working within different businesses and diverse cultures;
  • Financially literate with commercial acumen;
  • Passionate about consumers and products, understanding Customers need;
  • Experience in business case definition (Brand/Product Profitability, Return on Investment, COG definition, P&L).

 

Leadership Capabilities:

 

  • Very strong communication and influencing skills;
  • Ability to lead and inspire cross functional teams towards results in matrix organization;
  • Strong team player, result driven, assertive and culturally sensitive;
  • Excellent Stakeholders management skills;
  • Great capability to build alignment and engagement;
  • Deep personal accountability for great performance .

 

Educational and other requirements:

 

  • Bachelor/ Master Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Industrial Engeneering, Operations Management;
  • Project Management certifications;
  • Fluency in English;
  • Expert user of MS Office tools (Excel, Project and PowerPoint);
  • SAP experience highly desidarable.

 

The expected base salary for this position, based in New York City ranges from $120,000 - $142,000. The range will vary if outside of this location. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors and considerations. In addition to base salary and a generous employee benefits package, employees are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
