As a Logistics Coordinator, you will play a critical role in primarily ensuring all domestic freight has been arranged and pick up executed timely for all shipments going to main clients, Bailment and Franchise destinations in the US. This includes but is not limited to management of relationship and communication with 3PL’s and Carriers, inventory management, support of US Logistics team with invoice processing and documentation preparation. This role provides an opportunity for someone who thrives in a logistical environment with a purpose to “make it happen” and help solve the complexities in a dynamic and continually changing environment.            

 

Mission/Objectives

The role will have responsibility for US Domestic transportation and ensuring a smooth pick up and delivery of all domestic freight for finished products, inventory management, carrier performance monitoring, relationship building with 3PL warehouses and handle SAP system entries.

With strong supplier relationship building skills, developing KPI’s and monitoring carrier performance while keeping a fine balance between cost and service level. Developing and supporting innovation, ensuring that the business consistently achieves its planned goals and objectives.

Supporting the team on projects and initiatives generated by regional and global management, relying on data to prioritize company projects.

 

 

 

 

 

Key Responsibilities & Activities

  • Arrange Domestic Transportation to ensure timely departures so to meet company standards and service requirements by end client
  • Communicate with 3PL on priorities related to domestic freight, with receiving party to ensure timely deliveries and compliance with receiver’s regulations
  • Monitor carrier performance and focus/report on carriers with service issues to tackle a course of action in order to reduce or eliminate service failures
  • Build a strong relationship and keep close communication with 3PL warehouses and with production plant so to keep outgoing shipments moving timely
  • Coordinate timely pick ups and follow up on missed appointments
  • Generate and monitor reports so to see transit times for ocean shipments
  • Track and trace outgoing shipments when needed
  • Update SAP with transportation transactions as needed
  • Approve and process domestic carrier invoices
  • Deliver cost savings through the continuous improvement of the different logistics levers, developing and implementing plans to optimize
  • Jointly manage key Supplier Relationships with Operations & Procurement
  • Building visibility via QBR’s processes with the key suppliers
  • Support and seek advice from global relationship regarding technical content, SLA’s and KPI’s for any new supplier set up

Experience, Education & Personal Traits

  • At least 3+ years’ experience in Operations/CPG/Manufacturing/Warehousing/Transportation
  • BA/BS Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field
  • Preferable experience in developing and managing 3PL’s relationships
  • Good communication and organizational skills
  • Team player who thrives in a self-directed, collaborative and fast paced environment
  • Frequent involvement in reviewing performance and processes with other departments
  • Strong ability to maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers with the ability to be flexible, responsible, positive and able to confidently communicate   
  • Strong smart decision making and problem-solving ability with attention to detail 
  • Thrives in an environment that is fast paced and able to adapt to changing situations
  • Highly proficient in Word, Excel and familiarity with SAP or other ERP systems
  • Experience in the FMCG sector of Wines & Spirits is considered a plus
