Mission/Objectives
As a key business manager of the House of Brand team – American Whiskey, the role proactively contributes to the strategizing, activation and expansion of the Craft Whiskey portfolio globally (with a focus on Russell’s Reserve and Wilderness Trail), while leading critical innovation workstreams for the wider American Whiskey portfolio. The role closely collaborates across global markets and at all levels in the organization.
The SBM of Craft Whiskey’s leads the strategic thinking and implementation of the Craft Whiskey portfolio, managing all stages of the global brand positioning process, market expansion analysis, and Innovation expansion, under the guidance of the Global Director - American Whiskey.
Key Responsibilities and Activities
STRATEGIC PLANNING and ANALYSIS
Leads the annual global strategic planning process in partnership with the Director, including:

Leading development of the brand-market level forecast, leveraging a range of internal and syndicated data sources.

Contributes to the brand Long Term Forecast – considering 20 years of forecasted growth.

Monitors the brand profitability and performance trends, analyzing variances versus plans

Develops and evolves category/brand strategic growth initiatives.

Works directly with local markets to identify growth opportunities and localization efforts.

Develops and delivers marketing toolkits/strategic decks that outline critical strategic execution/growth initiatives to guide local markets (touching on entire marketing mix).
NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT
Leads the NPD process for the entire American Whiskey portfolio, in collaboration with Director, SBM Wild Turkey, and the Innovation Project Managers.

Defines innovation opportunities on a global level across American Whiskey brands

Ensures strategic alignment of NPD objectives and concepts with the brand architecture, innovation philosophy, strategies, and brand positioning.

Provides briefs for packaging, liquid development and manages these processes with the internal Technical Centre and third party agencies

Validates liquid and packaging, if applicable, with market research
-
Works with local markets to assess opportunity and localization efforts.

Leads internal innovation process with project manager – including development of business case (incl. both financial as well as strategic/market assumptions and goals/KPI)

Develops global launch plans and support tools, that cater to the marketing mix.

In case of niche/turnkey projects whose Project Leadership might be assigned exceptionally to local Marketing, responsible to guarantee equity coherence liaising with the local Market.
BUDGET

Leads the budget development of the Craft Whiskey portfolio, in partnership with Finance Director.

Monthly assessment of market FRCST to consolidate against budget - tracks actual vs. budget and proactively act to off- set any variances in spending, in partnership with Finance Director.

Management of the PO process for portfolio.

Identifies opportunities for synergies, efficiencies and cost savings in A&P spending.
BRAND CREATIVE DEVELOPMENT and EXECUTION
Find new ways to grow key brand funnel metrics. Manages the ideation, creation and dissemination of critical brand creative campaigns, assets and toolkits:

Insight driven briefs to agency to deliver concept + assets.

Ensures key market collaboration creatively and logistically throughout the process, considering in-market implementation and localization (proactively supports key markets in local adaptations of creative assets).

Delivers marketing toolkits to inspire stakeholders and drive consistent implementation.
Experience & Education
-
>10 years cumulative of Business Management, ideally within the Beverage and/or premium FMCG industries, with demonstrated career progression and leadership.

Strong preference for a candidate with experience in premium Whisk(e)y
-
Preference for a candidate with global experience.

Experience in delivering NPD outputs through strong cross-functional teamwork with Supply, Finance and Lead markets.

Undergraduate Degree with emphasis in Marketing. Master’s Degree is a plus.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $118,300.00 to $157,800.00. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors and considerations. In addition to base salary and a generous employee benefits package, employees are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
