General Description of the Role
The Finance Director, Marketing & Corporate FP&A is responsible for finance activities, including financial planning/budgeting, reporting and analysis for Campari America. The role reports directly to the VP Finance Campari America, will supervise Strategic planning, Budget and monthly forecasting process, develop tools, educate and provide financial insights to the Campari America Leadership Team, so as to ensure efficient allocation of resources, accurate forecasts and adequate performance measurement. FP&A mission is to critically look to the Future to plan and predict, look at the Now to be alert and react and look Backwards and report.
The FP&A Director will work closely with the Finance VP Campari America to develop and fulfill the mission and purpose of Finance in the USA. The purpose of Finance, in a generic sense, is threefold:

Enabling – to provide financing activities to fund the business and provide accountability to stakeholders;

Sustaining – in general terms, keeping score and ensuring control, the latter encompassing asset stewardship, as well as ensuring the achievement of business plans;

Enhancing – the provision of financial leadership, decision support and improving effectiveness through ongoing organizational learning.
Mission/Objectives
The role and purpose of Marketing and Corporate FP&A is to act as a business partner for the growth and development of the value of our brands, sustaining brand performance today and tomorrow. We will achieve this by:

Providing financial business partnership to the brand teams

Taking ownership of the financial elements of our brand plans
-
Providing constructive and robust challenge and support to the brand teams’ Strategic Planning processes
-
Providing constant visibility around brand performance and value drivers
Key Responsibilities and Activities
General Financial Planning & Analysis:
-
Oversee and coordinate the execution of the strategic and annual planning process to include budgeting and forecast updates in line with the group and regional calendar and model.

Ensure an effective and transparent info/data flow with the aim to proactively support the Marketing business decision process, including pricing and spend management and focus on brand profitability.

Supervise Headcount, Labor Cost and SG&A planning for the US Sales & Marketing Business Unit as well as the US Supply Chain.

Interpret business goals into business development objectives. Develop and track performance measures that link to business strategic objectives. Validate the calculation of the performance bonus across the organization.

Identify risks and opportunities and proactively take initiative to resolve issues, mitigate risks and/or exploit opportunities.
Brand Planning & Analysis

Establish and report on consistently measured brand drivers, linking both internal and external data
-
Build and maintain models on the appropriate level of A&P investment strategies, by spend component, taking into account brand market position, life cycle and company priority

Constantly identify, track and report working and non-working A&P investments
-
Review current brand performance and provide guidance on learnings and short term actions
-
Build the brand plans for the Strategic Plan and Budget, linking both with the long range forecast where appropriate
-
Work with the brand teams to construct a reliable, enriched and timely forecast into APO
-
Evaluate the impact of consistently applied A&P investments on the long term development of the brands’ value, ensuring organizational focus on the long term vision and the improvement of short term decision making
-
Understand and interpret the impact of the company’s total investment by brand – brand name, dedicated production assets, inventory – on the real returns by brand
-
Establish and maintain a market economics and competitor fact book, covering market size, growth, profit pools, price sensitivity, market and brand life cycles, competitor key points of strength

Understand the brand impact and dependency on strategic supply issues for long term maturing brands, namely brown spirits and tequila
-
Constantly exchange info/ analysis with Commercial FP&A, to understand the overall picture (especially on the A&P Marketing and Customer and channel Marketing)

Coordinate the team, being the interface vs Marketing, in:

Preparing business case for local brands using framework provided by Group
-
Providing info/analysis required in Toll gate and Fast Track processes
-
During budget phase, elaborating marketing costs together with Marketing and Customer and channel marketing Directors
-
Preparing analyses for the control of marketing investments and A&P
-
Preparing brand financials presentation for meeting alignment with Management
-
Process Efficiencies:
-
Enhance, implement and enforce Group policies and procedures by way of systems that will improve the overall operating effectiveness of the assigned areas.
-
Play active role in driving prioritization of new reporting functionality and ensure that US business requirements are met with an evolving reporting infrastructure to deliver timely and relevant business intelligence to the US marketing and customer and channel marketing teams.

Provide input and support on contract agreements across Campari America to ensure agreements will deliver optimal financial results.

Develop robust tools and processes to support ongoing ROI activities for tangible and intangible asset analysis/decision support.

Ensure effective communication of financial performance management processes to ensure compliance and timely reporting.

Establish consistent and effective levels of service and leadership to the Sales and Marketing teams.

Oversee the fine tuning of IT reporting system’s functional specifications and participates to key ongoing IT projects related to the FP&A area, with the aim of enabling the required FP&A by Group Controlling and by Country Management team
Functional Leadership:

As a business partner, provide effective financial leadership across the business operations, raising the awareness and standards of financial competency in those operations.

Responsible for ensuring the continued development of the FP&A team providing leadership and mentoring, effective team coordination and succession planning.

Constantly review capabilities and design of the team and processes, so it evolves as the business evolves.

Set appropriate goals and provide timely feedback to challenge employees to perform at higher levels.

Experience Required
-
5-10 years progressively increasing leadership in finance, preferably in a CPG environment with a focus in the area of financial planning and analysis with a focus in the area of brand marketing

Experience in the beverage alcohol industry a plus
Education / Professional Qualifications

BA/BS degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or other related degree

MBA preferred

Experience with analysis, forecasting, budgeting and management reporting including proven success in streamlining processes

Proven success in a lead business partnering finance role in a fast paced, changing environment; demonstrate desire to lead and drive initiatives across marketing and sales

Thorough knowledge of accounting and finance regulations, policies and procedures

Demonstrated advanced financial modeling experience. Excellent spreadsheet skills (functions/macros/BVA) and MS Excel power user level is strongly desired

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $165,800-$200,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors and considerations. In addition to base salary and a generous employee benefits package, employees are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
