Position Overview:
The Commercial Finance Analyst is the owner of depletions & financial reporting insights, integrity, and structure of the commercial finance organization. They will provide continuous support to the commercial finance, P&RG, sales, and centralized support teams. They will be responsible for preparing periodic reporting & analysis and ensure the commercial team’s business needs are met. This position requires great attention to detail and collaborating with senior leaders.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Business partner to finance & sales
- Key contact for all reporting and analysis needs for commercial finance team for issues, alignments, and communications
- Prepares and supports the commercial finance team with all monthly MBR & Business Review presentations and centralized consolidation reviews
- Monitors performance against KPI’s, investigates variances, and initiates corrective actions with functional leads
- Supports the development of new modelling tools, maintain, and improve existing ones
- Maintain the mapping of transactional and syndicated data used in models
- Actively works with key stakeholders to anticipate and design/create new models to meet the current and future reporting and data analysis needs of the business
- Regularly assesses practices for continuous improvement opportunities, aligns key stakeholders on the options, and delivers the agreed to changes
- Ad-hoc reporting and analysis as requested
Key Relationships:
Commercial Finance, Brand Finance, Pricing & Revenue Guidance (P&RG), Corporate Finance, Sales, Marketing, Strategy & Insights, Customer Service
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Accounting or related field
- 3+ years of relevant experience in commercial finance, financial planning, pricing/revenue management; spirits, beverage, and/or related CPG industries experience strongly preferred
- Demonstrates advanced financial modeling experience with Excel, PowerPoint, and PowerBI required; experience with Vistaar, Power Query, or SAP a plus
- Ability to build, walk through, and influence financial models, forecasts/budgets, and commercial performance trackers
- Ability to build relationships and collaborate cross functionally with senior leaders
- Effective communication skills to translate financial insights for non-financial teams
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision in analysis and reporting
- Flexibility to work as necessary to meet tight deadlines and deliver when the business requires
- Strong verbal and written communication skills (i.e. ability to express and defend analysis as well as to summarize & effectively explain complex information)
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced work environment and solving problems independently while managing multiple priorities effectively
- Self-starter & curious mindset preferred; not afraid to learn by doing in an independent and team environment
The expected base salary for this position ranges from $79,425 to $105,900. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors and considerations. In addition to base salary and a generous employee benefits package, employees are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
