General Description of the Role

Reporting to the Finance Director, the controller is responsible for maintaining solid financial standards and processes, securing the integrity of the financial reporting, both internal and external, including P&L, Balance Sheet and Cashflow.

The role is working in close collaboration with group functions (Tax, Treasury, IFRS, GBS) and receive support from external experts when needed, especially on tax related matters.

 

Mission/Objectives

 

  • Maintain compliance across organization for financial, accounting & administrative business activities, by defining solid processes where Roles, Responsibilities and timing are clear and understood by all.
  • Provide training to improve skills and awareness across Campari India, on all issues related to financial matters, policies and procedures as well as India Legislation/IFRS implementations where appropriate
  • Sponsor implementation of process automation or artificial intelligence to support business growth and increase dynamic business for decision making, in line with Group IT strategy.
  • Functional expert in SAP to improve our actual process and identify any optimization opportunity.
  • Act as a business partner, ensuring that all processes are coherent with Route to Market model.

 

Key Responsibilities and Activities

 

  • Be a Business Parter to seed best practices and compliance.
    • Create solid relationship with all key stakeholders, across all functions
    • Develop and empower the Controlling Team
    • Establish a clear communication and trust-based relationship with Region and Group
  • Improve Compliance and Finance information
    • Elaborate and implement policies and procedures in line with Group ways of working
    • Ensure tight internal control to eliminate business risks and company exposure
    • Guaranty integrity and timely financial reporting.
    • Lead month end and year end closing calendar ensuring that all activities are completed by the respective functions on time and supported by appropriate documentation
    • Review and update information accordance for India Legislation/IFRS16 and local GAP
    • Financial Statements Review & Analysis
    • Lead External Audit process
    • Support Internal Audit procedures

 

  • Support Global Implementations to standardize India at group level
    • Coordinate set up of new projects in SAP, Coupa, or other softwares to comply with corporate
    • Implement dedicated softwares to comply with local regulations

 

  • Responsible for Cash flow forecast
    • Monitor cash reserves and investments in collaboration with Group Treasury
    • Elaborate Cashflow forecast (Annual, Monthly, Biweekly) to secure company funding.
    • Identify opportunities to improve the financing need and collaborate with group Treasury to identify optimum financing strategy

 

  • Lead Tax agenda and secure tax compliance
    • Implement an adequate Tax dashboard to ensure all the requirements
    • Assign clear roles and responsibilities to other functions involved in tax processes
    • Work closely with Tax advisors and group tax to comply with all tax obligations

 

  • Support  business operation with GBS/BPO.
    • Main point of contact with Regional & Global GBS/BPO Team
    • Maintain KPIs/OLAs with GBS to secure business operations continuity
    • Evaluate with Region/Global Business process Automation wherever appropriate

Internal: Finance Director, group Tax, Group Treasury, Regional GBS, Regional FP&A Manager, Campari India leadership team, Internal audit.

 

External: External audit, financial & Tax consultants, Banks, GBS/BPO.

 

Experience Required

 

  • Minimum 10 years experience on Finance.
  • 5 years as Finance Manager, Business controller or similar position managing people.

 

Education / Professional Qualifications

  • Chartered Accountant (CA)
  • Cost & Management Accountant (CMA) is a plus.
