Campari India is a part of APAC region and folds into Singapore region office. The operations in India started in the year 2010 where its been through cycle differnt of business models largely working with distribution partners until when in 2019 Campari India Pvt Ltd was setup. Since then the organisation has fully dedicated leadership team across finance, supply chain, marketing, sales. India portfolio has close to 12 brands in diverse alco bev.categories. (Vodka, Gin, Tequila, Whisky, Rum, Single Malt, Bourbon, Cognac, Apertiffs). Our portfolio in India includes:

About the role 

The Category Manager plays a major role in building the portfolio, dirivng category growth & profitability as well as driving equity of our portfolio. The role is part of the marketing leadership team and is a senior role within marketing team. She/he is responsible for developing strategy and execution of category plan, achievement of brand objectives in the portfolio and for the development of team.

 

Key Responsibilities and Activities

 

Portfolio & business performance management

  • Owns the Portfolio Growth plan end to end for the Category.
  • Delivery of Category performance in line with Marketing P&L metrics & growth targets
  • Reports monthly key achievements or issues against the set KPI
  • Contributes to the development of local strategies consistently with global brand guidelines, ensuring full alignment with the Group Strategic Marketing team
  • Conducts research to define targeted customer segments and determine the key values that drive buying behavior for each segment. Constantly follows consumer and competitive landscape and the evolution of new trends
  • Responsible for the design and execution of all ATL, BTL, brand PR and innovation activities
  • Tracks the overall brand budgets and monitors the effectiveness of marketing campaigns
  • Manages new product development projects / launches in the market, and supports the development of pricing strategies in cooperation with the Commercial team
  • Maintains strong relationship with media / creative agencies and encourages creative output

 

Leadership & people management

  • Act as a leader for cross functional team to drive growth agenda for the category
  • Seeks opportunities to motivate strong team engagement & coach direct reportee
  • Continuously promotes and supports capabilities development in marketing organization

 

Reporting and other key relationships

The role reports to the Chief Marketing Officer, India, who in turn reports to the Managing Director.

 

Experience

  • At least 10 years experience in a global company with 7 to 8 years experience in marketing. Prior category head experience is a plus
  • FMCG or large Alco bev MNC
  • Premier B-school MBA only

 

Skills

  • Robust technical skills across the main marketing specialties (brand management, consumer research, social media, digital, portfolio health management)
  • Good understanding of sales & customer marketing
  • Commercial aptitude and P&L understanding with a strong ROI and analytical mindset
  • Strategic thinking and ability to create & define portfolio strategy in line with business objectives
  • Outstanding execution skills, coupled with the ability to meet deadlines by managing various projects with a diverse range of priorities simultaneously
  • Proven ability to successfully operate within international and multicultural environments
  • Ability to work independently with limited oversight
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment
