Position Summary: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and preventive maintenance systems. A primary responsibility is to maintain and operate the Ultra Filtration (UF) Stillage System.
Position Type: Non-Exempt, Full Time: 40+ hours per week Monday through Friday. Shift: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm. Availability for overtime and on-call shifts is a MUST.
Position Responsibilities:
- A primary function of this role is to operate and maintain the WTD Stillage Filtration System and train others on the system as needed. Will monitor the systems via interaction with HMI screens. Perform service tasks to keep the system running.
- Changing Vibratory Screens
- Operating and servicing pumps
- Flushing the system & adding and adjusting chemicals
- Monitoring chemical levels on hand & measuring and monitoring PH levels
- Changing Filters on RO system.
- Transferring stillage between vessels
- Performing cleaning cycles on the system
- Configuring parameters within the operating system
- Perform routine repairs and maintain all site equipment as needed.
- Troubleshoot malfunctions and locate source of problems by examining equipment and mechanical devices.
- Assist in line changes and process improvements.
- Clean equipment, lubricate moving parts, change fluids, modify equipment, and replace parts and components as required.
- Maintain records of all maintenance activities
- Conduct preventive maintenance measures on structures, equipment, electrical, plumbing as well as facilities.
- As requested, supervise contractors carrying out work within facilities
- Maintain positive work environment by performing and communicating in a manner that promotes good relationships with co-workers, customers, clients and management.
- Maintain safe and clean work environment.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Experience working as Maintenance Technician in Industrial Maintenance manufacturing environment.
- Excellent mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of maintenance procedures and interpretation of written and oral directions, including blueprints, construction plans, drawings, and assembly instructions.
- Working knowledge of machine tools including conveyors, packaging equipment, pumps, and hydraulic and pneumatic equipment
- Proficient with MIG and TIG Welding
- Must possess excellent communication skills, problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
- High degree of initiative, creativity, self-direction, and respect for the safety rules and procedures
- Good interpersonal skills and able to work well in a team environment.
- Basic Computer Skills (Email, Word, Excel, etc.)
- Ability to work overtime, on-call shifts, weekends and holidays as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED and completion of a maintenance apprenticeship program, or completion of an associate’s degree program with a focus in Industrial Maintenance. May substitute equivalent years of education for equivalent experience in an Industrial Maintenance environment or related field.
- 3+ years of manufacturing experience; strong mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and industrial skills with some PLC experience desired.
Valued but not Required Skills and Experience:
- Experience working in a distillery production environment.
- Working knowledge of preventive/predictive maintenance techniques
- Exposure to continuous improvement techniques

- Work at elevated heights more than 5 feet above floor level Work from boom lifts and lift platforms and scaffolding.
- Work in awkward positions and tight areas
- Lift 50 lbs. frequently and 80 lbs. occasionally
- Have adequate near vision to read gauges, controls, knobs, levers and CRT’s.
