Role Overview:

 

Campari Group is looking for a National Account Manager, National On Trade to join the Commercial team based in London, United Kingdom. 

 

This role will have full P&L responsibility for assigned customers. It requires a commercially minded, customer and consumer focused candidate with the ability to build customer relationships and partnerships, to deliver strong sales across their account base, building insight-led business plans to deliver key commercial and brand metrics.

In addition, the candidate will be able to deliver excellent consumer focused activation and evaluation. 

 

The successful candidate will report into the National Account Controller. 

 

Key Responsibilities and Activities 

 

  • Develop and maintain customer relationships in order to increase business performance, develop sales opportunities and increase profitability  

  • Structure, implement and manage joint business plans with customers, that ensures delivery of key agreed volume and margin targets aligned to the commercial and business unit strategy 

  • Step change the Campari relationship with key customers by developing collaborative partnerships, maintaining and developing relationships across all levels of these businesses, in order to increase business performance, develop sales opportunities and increase profitability 

  • Commercial accountability for delivering against targeted objectives, securing new business within the channel and developing key stakeholder relationships 

  • Promote teamwork and collaboration across the team and successfully bring together cross-functional practices. 

  • Analyse consumer, customer insight and sales data to include in comprehensive customer proposals. 

  • Maintain a strong awareness and understanding of the spirits and licensed trade market to ensure business plans and practices adequately reflect market and customer changes / demands  

  • Work collaboratively with other functions in the Campari UK business, including Channel & Customer Marketing, Finance and Marketing teams 

  • Partner with our Brand Houses and Customer Marketing teams to bring our brands to life in the form of consumer facing activations. 

  • Identify sales volume / value growth opportunities through ongoing analysis of customer and market performance  

  • Working within a recently established channel specific Trading Terms framework. Linking investment to specific criteria 

  • Ability to influence key customer stakeholders to secure distribution, new and improved feature and new business 

  • Delivering accurate financial and volume forecasts 

  • Support the National Account Controller to ensure a coordinated commercial position across key customers.

Experience and Skills 

 

Experience: 

 

  • 3-5 year of experience sales experience in the UK drinks industry (on trade preferred) 

  • Evidence of clear category understanding and successful implementation of brand plans 

  • Experience working with MPO and Regional on-trade groups desired 

 

Skills: 

 

  • Excellent knowledge of the UK On trade spirits market 

  • Good understanding of different on-trade sub-channels (desired) 

  • The ability to tailor plans and approach to target the diverse customer base  

  • Excellent relationship-building and communication skills  

  • Ability to derive insight from data  

  • Robust commercial understanding, good numerical and reasoning skills  

  • Strong negotiation skills  

  • Ability to interact and deliver change through different levels  

  • Ability to influence peers / stakeholders and senior management both internally and externally
