General Description of the Role

  • Support the Regional Engineering Director to collect from assigned factories and distilleries bottom-up requests to build the capex budget and strategic plan (3 years). Proposals should cover needs to reach annual and strategic plan targets, to match production growth, to assure business continuity.

  • Help assigned factories and distilleries to generate ideas and transfer best practices to deliver productivity on:

    • «equipment» (OEE, set-up time)

    • «energy»

  • Track the capital expenditure and related projects along the year (for assigned sites) to avoid delays and late result delivery.

  • Drive the preparation of technical specification for new equipment or important modifications.

  • Support the supplier selection with a technical perspective preparing technical comparison of their quotations.

 

Mission/Objectives

The Snr Project Engineering will manage the Capex Projects activities and assist with CI projects managing staff/contractors to ensure all aspects of the projects are completed in a quality manner while driving continuous improvement in the operation.

 

Key Responsibilities and Activities

  • Track the capital expenditure and related projects along the year (for assigned sites) to avoid delays and late result delivery.

  • Drive the preparation of technical specification for new equipment or important modifications.

  • Support the supplier selection with a technical perspective preparing technical comparison of their quotations.

  • Directly manage important projects with high capex involved (> 200k USD):

    • plant capacity growth.

    • main equipment substitution or extraordinary refurbishment.

    • transfer or in-sourcing of production lines

    • Technology transfer amongst the plants

  • Track maintenance costs of assigned plants.

  • Support Plant Engineering & Maintenance teams to:

    • technically specify new equipment or modifications to existing ones.

    • install, commission, test and ramp-up new or modified equipment.

    • de-commission or transfer equipment.

    • maintain manufacturing lines, cellars, utilities, and buildings to assure production continuity.

    • implement appropriate approaches, tools, and methods to maintain assets:

      • autonomous

      • on break-down

      • time based

      • condition based

      • preventive

      • predictive

  • Help, through training-on-the-job, the implementation of standard Engineering KPIs, processes, tools, methods, and procedures:

    • Problem Solving methodologies (e.g., PDCA, A3, 8D, …)

    • Process-FMECAs

    • CQV (Commissioning, Qualification, Validation)

    • O.E.E.

  • Identify best practices and share them with Regional Engineering Director and counterparts

Internal:

  • Plant Directors, Q and HSE plant managers, Regional and Global Engineering Team

 

External: 

  • Vendors/Contractors/Government officials

 

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

 

Education

  • BA/BS degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or Chemical Engineering

 

Experience

  • Experience of at least 5 years in factories with leading positions in Project Management and/or Plant Engineering and/or Maintenance.

  • Engineering university degree

  • Preference for experience in Food & Beverage Industries

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Skills & Competencies to manage capex budget and analyze maintenance expenses reports.

  • Professionality to manage large projects.

  • Knowledge to organize, manage, train, and execute maintenance operations with different approaches:

    • autonomous

    • emergency

    • time based

    • condition based

    • preventive

    • predictive

  • Ability to manage people in different countries through leadership, coaching and training.

  • Knowledge and practical application of tools and techniques for:

    • Problem Solving.

    • TPM and Lean Manufacturing.

    • Process-FMEA.

    • Energy Management.

  • Knowledge of KPIs like OEE, MTBF, MTTR.

  • Skills & Competencies for effective communication and motivation.

  • Knowledge of safety directives, laws and risk analysis methods applied to machines and equipment

  • Project Management tools expertise based on the PMI PMBoK methodologies

 

Languages:

Fluent in English and

Professional Working Proficiency in Spanish is a plus
