General Description of the Role

General Utility is a union hourly position responsible for conducting various duties around warehousing, and production.

Mission/Objectives

General Utility will work in the warehouse in a safe and efficient manner and will strive to continuously improve the operation.

Key Responsibilities and Activities

Quality:

Responsible for meeting the general needs for Wild Turkey Distilling facility.

Comply with established work area quality and consistency checks and measures. Must be attentive at all times.

Comply with all GMP, ISO and food safety standards related to the work site areas.

Work with appropriate internal stakeholders to drive continuous improvement and/or to resolve quality risks when identified.

Safety:

In coordination with the site EH&S Manger, ensure the work site operations comply with GMP practices and site safety rules.

Adhere to and promote a safe working environment. This includes keeping all materials, supplies, tools and any other production related items in their place. Adherence to 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) standards is expected of the operator.

Immediately report any safety items related to you or any other employee to your supervisor or any other management representative. Safety items to be reported include but are not limited to bodily injury, near misses, potential dangers, spills and/or any other accidents.

Perform as part of the Plant Emergency Response Team (Spill control, incipient firefighting, etc.)

Comply with all ISO and food safety standards.

Efficiency:

Must be able to accurately enter data.

Must be able to work efficiently and ensure quality of warehousing inventory, barrel movements, and housekeeping.

Will be responsible for the efficient handling of empty barrels, offloading / loading trucks and standing barrels, and collection of samples.

This position will assist classified operators with their job duties to provide continuous workflow in the warehouse and production areas.

This position requires work in outside temperatures.

Any other duties as assigned by management.

Experience Required

Experience working in a face paced environment is preferred.

Education / Professional Qualifications

High school degree or equivalent.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Problem solving skills, attention to detail and customer service are essential functions of the Carpenter position.

Must be capable of standing or walking for extended periods of time and climbing multiple flights of stairs.

Physically navigate around a plant/production environment – including the repetitive climbing of stairs, elevated walkways etc. Must be able to ascend and descend ladders as appropriate.

Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. on a regular basis.

Shoveling spills, digging-out obstructions, etc.

Must not be afraid of working at heights and be able to work off ladders and in lifts.

Have vision sufficient to view the images and data on the monitors, screens and blueprints.

Must be able to complete and submit repair orders for maintenance work.

Visually inspect equipment for compliance to SOPs and other safety standards.
