General Description of the Role
The Chain Sales Specialist is responsible for driving volume growth via display execution, brand visibility and ensuring brand standards are executed across assigned accounts and indirectly across a predefined geography. Focus is on direct key account and distributor management execution and goals. Selling is supplemented by distributor activity and coordination.
Mission/Objectives
Drive visibility and brand standards focused on Strategic Brands within the Campari portfolio concentrated in the Retail Grocery channel.
Key Responsibilities and Activities
Key Account Management
- Targets overall execution and brand education within top retail accounts of the Campari portfolio and develops direct relationships with those key accounts.
- Looks for opportunities to expand Campari brand visibility primarily within the retail grocery channel in the areas of, (shelving, distribution, promotion, cross merchandising and special events).
- Executes programs for assigned key accounts and geographic region of accounts to achieve brand presence via display and education of brand portfolio.
- Follows up with key accounts and distributor to ensure programs are executed as planned via a structured system and process.
- Provides general reporting of account opportunities, programs, and KPIs to State Chain Manager, FMM and National Account teams where applicable.
- Coordinates with local Campari and Distributor management on a regular basis to ensure increased execution and visibility of strategic brands.
- Conducts education training, supports incentive programs and budget management on priority strategic brands.
Channel Expertise
- Strives for a deep understanding and insight of the channel to enhance overall execution of brand standards and product education with our distributor partners, accounts,shoppers and consumers.
- Applies channel insight and recommends resources/tools to our Region and Field Marketing Managers
- Identifies sell out opportunities at store level and communicates to Region and Field Marketing Teams to accompish
People Performance

Brand Building
- Works in conjunction with Campari’s Region and Field Marketing Management (FMM) Team to assist with the planning and execution of creative, local events that increase the presence and visibility of our strategic brands within the target market.
- Provides input and feedback to support planning and development of the tactical budgets for execution in the marketplace.
- Schedules education events in assigned flagship accounts.
- Monitors and reports competitive supplier, or other volume increasing activity, in assigned key accounts and the channel to improve future Campari brand promotions/strategy in the retail grocery channel and key account banners.
- Works with distributor to develop goals and objectives focused on sell out metrics.
- Manages POS and Coupon inventory and execution alongside distributor
Distributor Management
- Executes programs in assigned key accounts in conjunction with the Distributor Sales teams.
- Works with key retail grocery sales representatives from the distributor network in assigned key accounts
- Conducts regular meetings with key distributor retail sales teams/merchandisers to set goals and direction relating to Campari programs and initiatives.
- Manages Distributor incentive programs and budget

Experience Required
- 2 to 3 years of experience in off premise alcoholic beverage or consumer product sales.
- Experience working in a three-tier distribution market.
- Current and effective in market retail channel relationship and marketing understanding.
Education / Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required – preferably in Business Administration.
Essential Job Functions
- Ability to travel within assigned territory – generally 5 days per week, and able to work extended hours when required.
- Drive to various locations in assigned area/region.
- Deliver retail grocery account development and point of sale in market/key accounts.
- Make in person presentations – communicating verbally information and opportunities within key accounts and assigned geography.
- Must have a motor vehicle that is insured and possess a valid driver’s license.

- Sound understanding of in market selling skills in the retail grocery channel.
- Ability to execute brand building programs that drive volume and share growth in key accounts.

Technical
- Proficient in iDig, Compass, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong presentation skills.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $90,000 to $95,000 per year. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors and considerations. In addition to the base salary and a generous employee benefits package, employees are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
