General Description of the Role, Mission & Objectives

Respect to the organizational model and the common goals described, the GBS Regional Sr. Specialist reports to the GBS Regional Director, as part of the regional organization in strong connection with the GBS central structure.

 

The purpose of the role is to drive cross countries transformation initiatives along and ensure E2E process performance achievement within the Region for Compliance & Accounting, supporting the GBS Regional Director in driving cross functional transactional process innovation, harmonization and compliance.

He/She is in charge to boost alignment with global GBS model and focus on continuous improvement, acting as intermediary between local organization and the GBS to ensure E2E process performance enabling also smooth service delivery through BPO involvement.

He/She leverages on available data to timely identify processes performance drivers in order to prevent  and/or enhance opportunities, proactively working with local entities to anticipate effective solutions. Leveragin on proximity to the markets, he/she recommends initiatives to improve customer (=Region/legal entity) satisfaction based on evidences data driven and feedbacks collected.

S/he acts as main point of contact for in market companies to activate solutions, escalate issues, share best practice, present case studies, deviations or any enhancement, etc

He/She support the GBS Regional Director in coordinating alignments among regional layer, local entities and GBS.

He/She supports the governance of local Compliance & Accounting activities to guarantee data quality and consistency across countries (ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles / financial reporting standards) and process execution according to Group deadlines.

 

Key Responsibilities

The GBS Regional Sr. Specialist key responsabilities are:

  • Support the execution of global GBS model deployment at local level, evaluate and address/approve any local deviation (if any)
  • Ensure process compliance to improve quality and efficiency together with GBS organization, tracking SLA and OLA, to evaluate and address any local deviation leveraging on structured root cause analysis
  • Collaborate with local organizations for the identification of continuous improvement opportunities and initiatives to optimize and balance the operating model
  • Ensure finance process consistency to secure data quality and reliability also to Group consolidation purposes in full compliance with the Group deadlines
  • Reinforce and facilitate relationship / communication among local entities and GBS / BPO, contributing to issue resolution, opportunities enhancement as well as managing escalations
  • Support local entities and the GBS in the governance of local compliance activities to guarantee data reliability  and secure quality, deploying controls and reconciliations consistent to GBS guidelines
  • Consistently use available data to detect any opportunity of transactional process improvement, liasing with the GBS to explore solutions as well as anticipate needs and issue reported by the countries and address it properly
  • Run training classes for new processes, tools, procedures to target audience whitin the region, to facilitate adoption and continuous support and follow up on the adoption

 

 

 

Key Relationships

Internal: Local Finance Directors and teams, GBS Service Delivery Excellence, GBS FN Consolidation Service, Group Statutory Reporting & Consolidation, Regional Tax Manager, Regional Treasury Manager, local Supply Chain, other Functions involved in GBS processes (e.g.: local functions for suppliers management)

External: Consultants, External Auditors, BPO central Leads and delivery centers leads.

Experience Required

  • Proven experience on process re-engineering and digitalization projects
  • Ability to manage transformation projects with a track-record of delivering excellent results to deadlines
  • Rounded experience to drive the change and accelerate the transformation
  • Familiar with complex and multicultural organization
  • Comfortable with digital tools and analytics dashboard for process analysis
  • Robust knowledge of compliance & accounting matters.

 

Education / Professional Qualifications

  • University Degree in relevant disciplines (Economic/Business Administration or Engineering)
  • Consolidated experience in multi-functions and multi cultural organizations
  • Good knowledge of new technologies (SNOW, Process Data Mining, Microsoft PBI….)
  • Expert user of MS Office tools as well as SAP /BPC knowledge
  • Fluent English is mandatory and a second/third language of the region in scope is recommended

 

Skills & Competencies

  • Deep knowledge of business processes in GBS perimeter as well as of technologies,  platforms and systems enabling execution of transactional processes
  • Ability to ensure excellence delivery in terms of performance, time to market, quality and customer management expectations
  • Ability to continuously innovate, standardize, harmonize E2E processes starting from the analysis of quantitative data and through the adoption of new technologies (e.g. RPA / AI / ML)
  • Solid knowledge of compliance & accounting activities as well as generally accepted accounting principles / financial reporting standards
